Progressive/death metal with Gene Hoglan (Death, Strapping Young Lad, etc) on drums. Quality album, kind of reminds me of Noneuclid at points, especially on Hall Of The Gods.
I don't know how this album's title is pronounced. Generally regarded as his best album. I personally prefer Meathole, but this is still damn good. The song titles probably have numerous misspellings, but I don't care enough to fix the titles of songs I wouldn't be able to pronounce anyway.
So, school stuff has been completely consuming my life for the past few days and will until the end of next week... ish. I apologize in advance for the lack of new stuff on here, because I know you all will just die without new musics.
All of The Black Keys' full lengths, plus a tribute EP. Only missing one EP. All of these albums are great. Listed in chronological order. Here for album descriptions.
“Storming with a ballsy but graceful air of Viking metal meshed with Americanized prog, thrash and even folk influences, The Green Evening Requiem’s melodic rock and black/death derivation is a near perfect meld of styles.”
New 16. This is my first experience with them, and it's inspired to check out their last album, Zoloft Smile. Sludge/stoner metal in the High On Fire, Warhorse, Kylesa vein.
Last year's best grindcore album. You know the drill - short, pissed off songs, 1000 mph drums, political themes, blah blah. Once again, nothing really new, but still great.
32 tracks, each of which grinds you into tiny pieces. Named after enormous war elephants in Lord of the Rings. There is not a single original idea on this album, but it's still great.
I threw this on randomly today for the first time in months and it's still great. Basically the most uplifting doom/drone album ever. It's still sad, but there's some hope thrown in - it's not as crushingly despairing as their earlier work.
3 piece band with drums, bass, and an extremely distorted sax. Contributions from King Buzzo and Mike Patton. Released on Ipecac Records. Yeah, it sounds weird.
New Kylesa. Psychedelic/sludge with a great, fuzzed out guitar tone and two drummers. I'm halfway through listening to this for the first time and so far I love it.
This album is available for free and by a band named Ripped Off Face, and yet it's still well written metal and not mindless brutal death bullshit. Check it out.
I'm seeing this band tomorrow. I listened to them for the first time today. They're pretty good. They sound like what you would expect from a band on Translation Loss (home to Mouth of the Architect, Rosetta, and Irepress).
