This band is comparable to DragonForce in that both are over-the-top technical wankfests whose sole purpose is to show off how awesome they are at their instruments, and every song sounds exactly the same. Unlike DragonForce, however, Brain Drill keep things short (none of the songs are much longer than 4 minutes, and the album is just over a half hour long), and more importantly, they don't sound absolutely fucking stupid. They sound like death metal. Really noodly, weedly death metal. Despite that, it's one of my favorite metal releases this year.
